New Jersey Indian & International Film Festival (NJIIFF) is dedicated to bridging cultures and communities through the powerful medium of cinema. Our mission is to connect American, Indian, and South Asian audiences by showcasing compelling stories from around the world.
NJIIFF provides a dynamic platform for both local and international filmmakers to present their work to a diverse and engaged audience. We celebrate storytelling in all its forms and welcome voices that reflect global perspectives, social relevance, and artistic excellence.
We are especially proud to champion women in filmmaking. NJIIFF actively supports and honors the contributions of women behind and in front of the camera, offering a space that values representation, inclusivity, and equal opportunity in the film industry.
Following are the competition categories:
Feature Film: A film with a running time of more than 30 minutes to maximum 180 minutes inclusive of all credits & titles.
Short Film: A film with a running time minimum 6 min up to 30 minutes, inclusive of all credits & tiles.
New Jersey Films: This category is exclusively for short films made locally within the state of New Jersey (USA) by New Jersey-based filmmakers.
Women in Films: This category honors and amplifies the creative contributions of women in cinema. Eligibility requires that the film be produced, directed, or written by a woman. Projects that highlight women's stories, voices, and perspectives are especially encouraged, regardless of format or style.
Film on Social Issues: Films that explore, reflect, or challenge pressing social, cultural, or political topics. This category welcomes stories that raise awareness, inspire change, or give voice to underrepresented perspectives — including themes such as human rights, equality, justice, environmental concerns, mental health and community impact.
Indian Films: Films which are produced & completed in India, or on Indian themes by Indian Film Makers.
Short of Shorts: A film with a running time minimum 1 min to maximum 6 minutes, inclusive of all credits & tiles.

5. Best Writer – Feature Film

10. Best Writer – Short Film
11. Best Short of Shorts (for films under 7 minutes)
